![]() Yes, the service and table side manner were next level. Not at Oscar’s! The waitstaff was on top of our every need, but hung back to allow for private conversation and enjoyment of the meal before springing back into action at just the right moment. I suppose it is not much of a stretch to expect an attentive staff when you are one of only a handful of tables, but such a scenario can easily lead to service staff becoming overbearing. The tucked-away location provides a quiet and intimate feel with soft lighting to round out the romance of it all.ĭinner service was very well done with a classically trained staff. ![]() Despite the lack of bay view, the ambiance was very nice. We found this to be the only drawback however. Oscar’s is positioned as such to allow for a view of the river, but any bay views are blocked by the bridge. They are very conveniently located on Cuale Island, right off the Malecón pedestrian bridge over the mouth of the river. can only assume that the only thing keeping Oscar’s from filling to capacity every night is their location. We finally succumbed to curiosity this trip and stopped in for dinner last Monday. I was always intrigued as the restaurant looked so inviting, but was always sparsely occupied. We visit PV regularly and have passed by Oscar’s many times walking along the Malecón. The prices may be a couple bucks more than some other restaurants, but this is a dining experience. And out of a week's worth of margarita sampling.Oscar's was probably the tastiest. I won't go into describing our meal, only to say that it was beautifully prepared and delicious. At one point the setting sun had shifted and was hitting us in the face and he silently retrieved a large patio umbrella and positioned it in front of us for shade. Our service was impeccable our waiter knew that perfect balance of being available but not hovering. The grounds are immaculate and the decor is lovely. The restaurant itself is truly a class act and is indeed in a lovely location, if not directly on the surf. If you're on vacation in Puerto Vallarta, you will have plenty of opportunities to eat on the beach. So what if it's not directly on the beach. so maybe the last week in January isn't quite peak season yet. In walking past on subsequent days we never did see very many people there. We stopped in for an early dinner.the only people there at around 5pm. I hope I've given this review an inaccurate title and maybe we were there on an "off" day.
